Pianist Mr. Emilio Morales Ruiz
He was graduated at the Medium-Higher level in the specialty of Piano from the Cuban National School of Arts back in 1977.
Professor Morales Ruiz or Emilio as he is usually called, has performed with some of the best Cuban leading groups such as Opus 13, NG the Band and has shared the stage with top level musicians like ¨Chucho¨ Valdes, Giraldo Piloto, Dave Valentin, and Omara Portuondo, some of them several times Grammy’s awardees.
He has recorded with Cuban and foreign leading performers alike for various known French and British music houses.
He has participated with several different groups at Festivals and Jazz Concerts abroad, in countries like the U.S. Canada, France, Japan, Brazil, Holland, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, among others.
He has worked with the Grammy awarded Omara Portuondo accompanying her in solo concerts and under the name of the Buena Vista Social Club project.
At present, he is acting as Invited Artist in the Cuban Music Project “Café Vista Alegre” under the leadership of the reknown guitar player and worldwide acknowledged Pancho Amat, besides leading his own music ensemble called “Los Nuevos Amigos”( The New Friends¨) with which he recently recorded his lately CD “Con-cierto Tumbao”( Tumbao Concert).
